Providing Trends Analysis and Strategic Recommendations for UNICEF East Asia and the Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO).
UNICEF East Asia and the Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) identified a need to deepen its understanding of emerging regional challenges that disproportionately affect children and other vulnerable populations. Timely, evidence-based insights were essential to inform programmatic decisions and anticipate future risks.
To support this objective, UNICEF EAPRO commissioned Research for Purpose to deliver in-depth reports on regional trends and offer actionable recommendations. Our research highlights both current and emerging issues, helping UNICEF shape responsive and proactive strategies. For instance, in early 2025, a regional spike in pollution levels was identified as a growing concern. Our work focused on exploring its implications for children and recommending interventions to protect their health—both immediately and in the long term.
Our contribution has had a meaningful impact not only on UNICEF’s campaign priorities but also on
its internal decision-making processes. Strategic planning is now increasingly guided by data-driven insights, ensuring that interventions are aligned with the most pressing needs across the region.
This collaboration strengthened UNICEF EAPRO’s ability to anticipate and respond to emerging challenges. The integration of evidence-based analysis into strategic planning has enhanced the organization’s agility and effectiveness in safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of children and vulnerable communities throughout East Asia and the Pacific.
