Supriya Sthapit Sherpa is a public health professional with a strong background in epidemiology and biostatistics. With over six years of experience, she specializes in global health, focusing on topics such as gender-based violence (GBV), sexual reproductive health (SRH), and youth engagement.
Throughout her career, she has supported major international organizations, including the World Health Organization, where she managed outbreak data for COVID-19 and other illnesses, and implemented a disability-inclusive pandemic response. At UNICEF, she supported a five-year research program on gender-responsive social protection. Her research experience extends to research assistant roles at Washington University, where she conducted scoping reviews on GBV screening programs and gender dynamics in public health emergencies, managed the global dataset on the Self-Reliance Index, led a systematic review on biomarkers of breast cancer, and contributed to a network meta-analysis on breast cancer risk-reducing medications.
Supriya holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Washington University in St. Louis, USA and a Bachelor of Public Health from Pokhara University in Nepal. She is currently based in Maryland, USA.
